Getting Started with DaRIS
Apply for a new DaRIS storage allocation
Eligible UoM researchers can apply for a DaRIS data storage allocation for their projects through our self-service Research Computing Portal (RCP):
For Customers of MBCIU (MR, PET/CT) or Florey MRI Facility
If your research data is acquired at Melbourne Brain Centre Imaging Unit (MBCIU) or the Florey MRI Facility, the facility will provision a DaRIS project for you to deliver the data. In most cases, you don’t need to apply for your own DaRIS storage allocation.
Request access to an existing DaRIS project
To request access to an existing DaRIS project, please submit a ServiceNow request:
UoM Staff: https://go.unimelb.edu.au/tu78
UoM Students: https://go.unimelb.edu.au/6o78
Filling in the details in your request form:
When the form asks for a ‘service’, select Research Data Storage.
When the forms says ‘describe your request’, be sure to include at a minimum:
the user details (email or UoM username) if you are requesting access for someone else
the DaRIS project ID of the project that you want to access
the access level required (project-administrator, subject-administrator, member, or guest)
Access the DaRIS web portal
After your DaRIS project is provisioned and your user access is enabled, you will be able to access it via the web portal:
Old web portal (Tree View)
not scalable for large projects with more than 10,000 subjects
New web portal (List View)
scalable for large projects
