Getting access to DaRIS
User Accounts
To get access to DaRIS system, you must have your own user account created or enabled. Your DaRIS account will empower you to operate the DaRIS system and access appopriate data collections.
UoM DaRIS supports three types of user accounts using corresponding authentication protocols:
- LDAP(openLDAP, Active Directory)
- SAML(Australian Access Federation)
- local Mediaflux authentication
UoM Staff and Students
After getting their accounts enabled, staff and students of the University of Melbourne can access UoM DaRIS system with their central AD credentials.
When logging in DaRIS, domain, username and password must be supplied, see examples below:
- For UniMelb Staff:
- Domain: unimelb
- User: <UNIMELB_USERNAME>
- Password: <UNIMELB_PASSWORD>
- For UniMelb Student:
- Domain: unimelb-student
- User: <UNIMELB_USERNAME>
- Password: <UNIMELB_PASSWORD>
External Collaborators
Collaborators from external institutions need to apply for local accounts.

2. Servlet Access
DaRIS includes a few servlets, which can be used to integrate with 3rd party application to retrieve data from DaRIS. See detail about servlet access.
